m. Jan. 22, 1778, Rebecca TAINTOR, dau. of Nathaniel and Submit (Tyler) TAINTOR. She was b. Sept. 20, 1758 and died April 22, 1836.
Their marriage is recorded at North Branford.
She is evidently the "Submit, dau. of Nathaniel TAINTOR, late of
Northford" mentioned in the Deed of Jonathan (4) and Lydia Bartholomew
his wife, dated 11 July 1775.
Agreement between Benjamin Maltby, Jr., of Branford, to Jehiel
Todd of Wallingford. Said Maltby is to provide and furnish said
Todd with a pair of good Burr mill stones together with a Bolting
Mill and Bolt to cover a reel fourteen foot long, said mill stones and
Bolt are to be put in a mill said Tod is building in Ireland (?) in
Springfield, in Massachusetts State, for which said Maltby is to be
entitled to 1/5 part of the toll said mill stones bring in, said Todd
agreeing to deliver the above fifth part of all grain taken on toll
in the Month of May annually to some store said Maltby shall provide
in Middletown--said Maltby to pay half the expense that shall arise
for the delivery of said grain, etc.
"James Bishop of Westfield, in the County of Hampshire, in the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Miller, ---fo # 300, to Benjamin
Maltby of Branford--3/4 of one certain Grist Mill standing on the
mile brook in the town of Westfield aforesaid--called Boggs Mills
with all the priviledges and appurtenances thereto belonging."

"1 March, 1793. Noah Dewey of Westfield for # 35 conveys one
fourth of said Mill"---to Benjamin Maltby.
(Vol. 31, p. 222)
31 Oct. 1792. "Calvin Austin of Suffield, Hartford County,
Conn., quit claims his interest in said mill, it having been leased
to him by James Bishop on 24 Aug. 1792."
(p. 293) "Benjamin Maltby, Jr. of Branford, # 230 to Capt. Josiah
Fowler of Branford, the one half of a certain Grist Mill.
